UDHAMPUR, Nov 14: Chairman, District Development Council, Udhampur, Lal Chand, today conducted an extensive tour of Panchayat Hartaryan to inspect the progress of developmental works in the area.
He also inaugurated some projects crucial for the progress of the area.
Member Legislative Assembly Udhampur West, Pawan Kumar Gupta accompanied the Chairman.
During the tour, the Chairman District Development Council, Udhampur, kick-started the construction work of the phase II of Hartaryan Road to Bhagat Mohalla road, spanning approximately 1.5 km, costing Rs 15 lakh.
Assistant Executive Engineer Rohit Gupta, other officials from the PWD Department, ex-sarpanches, ex-panches and other prominent citizens of the area were also present.
The Chairman congratulated the local inhabitants for the road. He informed them that road connectivity is a prerequisite for overall development and is the first priority of the government. He added that the road will provide better commutation facilities to the inhabitants of the surrounding area.
After the completion of the project, the logistics facilities and economic development in the area will be enhanced. The chairman directed the officials to maintain the quality of the work and complete it within the stipulated period.
During the tour, the locals draw the attention of the Chairman towards the damage to the water khool constructed by the Command Area Development in the area. They also sought release of wages for the construction work, which are pending till date.
The Chairman contacted the Director Command Area Development on phone describing to him the whole situation.
The DDC Chairman directed him to take cognizance of the matter and repair the water khool from every damaged end, as well as releasinh wage payments as early as possible.
