RAJOURI, May 26: Chairperson, District Development Council, Rajouri, Choudhary Naseem Liaqat today visited Peeri, Koteranka and Budhal areas of the district to take stock of preparedness made by the Health Department to tackle surge in Covid positive cases in the district.
The Chairperson also took stock of implementation of SOPs and health facilities available in PHCs/CHC and reviewed the stock position of medicines and medical oxygen cylinders.
He reviewed the progress on vaccination and directed officers of the Health Department to intensify the vaccination and COVID testing across block Kandi.
Officials at PHC Peeri apprised the Chairman about certain requirements which include Biochemistry analyzer, construction of labour room, boundary wall and augmentation of water supply besides requirement of staff including Safaiwala and ANM.
Further they apprised that the X-ray machine is lying defunct for last two years due to vacancy of X-ray technician in the PHC.
At CHC Kandi, the Chairman was apprised that five posts of doctors are there in the center, 5 oxygen concentrator and 15 cylinders are available .
Among the demands at CHC Kandi, demand was made for speedy construction of building of CHC Kandi, theatre building and digital X-ray machine was sought. The doctors also highlighted the demand for residential quarters for them and it was also brought in the notice of Chairman that posts be defreezed from PHC level so that posts of CHC be sanctioned for CHC Kandi.
At PHC Budhal, the Chairman was apprised that due to land dispute the construction work stands stalled and demanded that the work be got started at an earliest.
While interacting with the medical staff, he appreciated their role in different aspects of COVID management besides providing proper treatment to COVID patients. He expressed his satisfactions over the health arrangements made by the District Administration.
Chairman assured that all their genuine demands shall be met in a time bound manner.
The chairman was accompanied, among others, by ADC Koteranka, BMO Kandi, ZMO Peeri, SHOs Koteranka, Budhal and I/C police post Peeri.
