JAMMU, Oct 30: District Development Commissioner, Sushma Chauhan, who is also Chairman of Rogi Kalyan Samiti of Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu, today convened a meeting with the members of the committee.
The meeting was attended by Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta, Medical Superintendent Dr. Chander Parkash, Deputy Director Information, Minakshi Vaid, DSWO Jammu, Ajay Salaan, Corporators, Executive Engineers of PHE, PDD, PWD and other members of the Samiti.
Medical Superintendent gave a power point presentation highlighting the work done reports and overall functioning of the hospital. He informed about the number of patients examined and treated in various sections of the hospital.
He also highlighted that the biggest achievement of the hospital has been its certification by the State for National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS). The hospital is being upgraded to achieve the same standards by the central government.
It was further informed that Palliative Care Centre has also been established in the hospital and made functional and appreciated by the authorities at New Delhi where the institute has been identified as state centre for imparting training regarding palliative care to various Doctors/Disciplinarians.
While giving details about the staff position, Medical Superintendent informed about the requirement of staff, equipments and ambulances in the hospital.
The meeting also discussed various issues pertaining to choked drains in the hospital, shifting of transformer from hospital premises, issue of repair and renovation of hospital specially theaters, roof tops, windows, stairs, waiting sheds, roof of store, covering and repairing of old drains, bathrooms and related issues.
The DDC issued on spot directions to the concerned for making estimates of the works required to be taken up in the hospital. She assured the members that their demands would be projected to higher authorities for early fulfillment. She also asked for issuing tenders regarding outsourcing of security and sanitation staff for the hospital.
