DDC conducts extensive tour of flood hit areas

UDHAMPUR, Sept 15:  To assess the damage caused to private and public property in the backdrop of recent rains and flash floods in the district, the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Yasha Mudgal today conducted an extensive tour of flood affected and landslides areas like Saddal, Panjar, lower Meer and Panchari.
During the tour, Mrs. Mudgal asked the concerned officers to gear up the pace of relief and rescue works in the area so that affected families don’t suffer more and   recoup from the floods soon.
She appealed the general public to cooperate with the administration to tackle with the situation arisen due to heavy rains and floods.
Similarly,  the District Administration Udhampur in collaboration with Lupin Human Welfare & Research Foundation (NGO) and Jammu & Kashmir Bank jointly organized  relief camps at Saddal and Panchari area for the flood and landslide affected families.
Later, DDC distributed relief material which included blankets, tents,  kitchen sets and food items etc among the affected families.
Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ajay Singh Jamwal, representative of Lupin Human Welfare & Research Foundation, Satish Tomar,   Manager J&K Bank Panchari,  senior officers of various department, Tehsildars, all officials of Revenue Departments and BDO were also present on the occasion.
