DDC distributes Rs 8.70 lakh relief cheques under SDRF

REASI, June 13: District Administration convened a series of public grievance redressal meetings at Salal, Arnas and Panthal apart from detailed meetings with members of Panchayats for public demands to be placed before the District Development Board for consideration.
District Development Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary along with SSP Vivek Gupta and senior officers of all line departments apart from the 14 departments associated with PRIs attended these meetings.
Meanwhile, relief cheques under SDRF in cases of damage of houses due to heavy rainfall earlier this year were distributed among 60 families amounting Rs 8.70 lakh. Administration has already held a series of camps for distribution of relief cheques at various places. Two equipped ambulances were also dedicated by the DDC at Arnas and Mahore. He also informed that under PMGSY land compensation Government has recently provided Rs 3.60 cr for Arnas-Mahore and Rs 2.5 cr for Reasi roads apart from Rs 25 cr and Rs 18 cr provided by BRO for these sectors which is being distributed by the Collectors Land Acquisition within a period of one month through public camps.
The DDC heard members of all the Panchayats of Arnas and Reasi block where concerned District Officers responded to the public demands to be included in the Annual Plan under ongoing schemes or formulation of new proposals. Issues related to Power, PHE, Food supply, MG-NREGA payments, public works and grievances related to various departments were redressed.
