Doda: District Development Commissioner Doda Bhawani Rakwal today chaired a meeting of district and sectoral officers to review the expenditure and physical status of developmental projects in the district.
The DDC stressed upon the departments with poor performance to take innovative measures to fast track works and show performance on ground. He directed all the departments to ensure completion of developmental projects targeted for the current financial year.
Expressing concern over the low expenditure under IAY in RDD, PDD, R&B, Education, Health, PHE and Nutrition sectors, the DDC directed the concerned officers to identify the bottlenecks and speed up the pace of work to ensure completion before the onset of winter season.
The ACD informed that the execution of pending works, heldup for the want of cement, shall be started soon as the department has received the same in huge quantity.
Reviewing the performance of works department, the DDC was informed that around fifty percent blacktopping work has been completed in old town area.
The DDC directed the PHE department to take up the matter of augmentation of water supply in rural areas with higher authorities and also get the tools required for the repair and maintenance of water pipes. The DDC also directed JKPCC to the start BT work on Link Road connecting Ganpat bridge on either side.
Meanwhile, the DDC also reviewed the status of action taken on the directions issued by him at public grievances redress camps held in various parts of the district.
The department of Agriculture was asked to ensure the distribution of quality seeds and hold camps in each Panchayat to spread awareness among farmers about intervention schemes and modern techniques of farming.
He also directed AD FCS&CA to expedite the correction and revision of ration cards for early distribution of the same among beneficiaries. He also directed the department to issue cards to people in the exclusion categories as well as they need it for other purposes.
The DDC reiterated his directions for rationalisation of teaching staff in educational institutions, repair of electric lines and replacement of damaged poles to prevent untoward incidents. The DRCS was advised to encourage farmers and fruit growers to form cooperative societies to get maximum returns of their produce.
The DDC further directed the departments to reflect the expenditure for the month of October in their MPRs and submit the revised ATR to his office for its updation for the upcoming review Board meeting.
The officers present in the meeting were ACD Akhtar Hussain Qazi, CPO Yoginder Katoch, SE, XENs R&B, PDD, PMGSY, PHE, MD JKPCC, besides other heads of various departments.
