DDC finalizes Janmashtmi arrangements

JAMMU, July 31: District Development Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma   reviewed and finalized the arrangements for upcoming Janmashtmi festival here today at a joint meeting of officers and representatives of Sanatam Dharam Sabha and other religious organizations.
Detailed discussions were held regarding provision for power and water supply, security, sanitation, traffic, medicare and other related issues.
The meeting informed that the ‘Shobha Yatra’ will be taken out on August 9   from Parade Ground and after passing through the main bazaars of Jammu city would culminate at Raghunath ji temple.
The representatives of Sanatam Dharam Sabha apprised the meeting that this year the Shobha yatra would comprise of 18 ‘jhankies’.
Mr Verma directed the PDD and PHE authorities to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply, while the Police Department was asked to deploy adequate number of police personals during en-route ‘Shoba Yatra’. He asked the Jammu Municipal authorities to ensure cleanliness at Raghunath Ji Mandir Chowk and at all vital points of the Jammu city. The traffic authorities were asked to ensure proper traffic management to avoid Jamming during the yatra.
Health department   told the chair that two ambulances will be made available en-route yatra and one ambulance at Raghunath Ji temple. The Fire Services authorities were asked to remain vigilant to meet any eventuality.
