DDC flags off farmers exposure tour

DDC Mubarak Singh flagging off farmers tour to Krishi Vigyan Mela on Tuesday.

SAMBA, Mar 5: A group of 35 farmers along with three officers from different blocks of District Samba was flagged off by District Development Commissioner Samba Mubarak Singh today for attending the annual Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela at Pusa Institute New Delhi.
District Development Commissioner stressed upon the agriculturists to learn about the latest techniques being adopted by these Research Centers for the development of the agriculture especially in Kandi areas and follow the same in their respective fields for up-liftment of their socio economic status.
He said that agriculture activities play an important role for the up-liftment of farming community and is also the backbone of Indian economy. He advised the farmers to gather the knowledge from the tour and implement the same in their field and disseminate the same among the fellow farmers. He also stressed upon the Department of Agriculture to promote such exposure visit so that the farming community of the district is benefitted.
The Chief Agriculture Officer Samba Dr.Rama Kant apprised that the exposure visit is being conducted under CSS “support to state extension programme for extension reforms” ATMA scheme 2012-13. He also highlighted the objective and importance of the exposure visit as the farmers will have a chance to see the latest technology for promotion of agriculture being displayed in the said mela.
ADDC Samba Neelam Sethi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba Bikram Singh Jamwal, Chief Planning Officer Samba Sant Ram,  K.K.Kaul SDAO Samba,  Yog Raj, AEO Vijaypur,  Deedar Singh AEO, Yakh, Sandeep Dogra, AEO (HQ) and other officers of the Agriculture Department were also present at the occasion.
