DDC for strengthening health facilities in far flung areas

RAJOURI, Dec 18: With a view to strengthen the health set-up District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Saugat Biswas, has got a survey undertaken to identify shortcomings in the various health institutions of the district. Suggestions and recommendations have been called from the medical officers as well as the Sarpanchs of the district.
In the first phase,  Dental units with compressor has been sanctioned for PHC at Upper Hathal in block Sundarbani, PHC Shahdara Sharief in block Thanamandi, PHC Jamola and PHC Peeri in block Budhal. An X-Ray plant has also been sanctioned for PHC Peeri. A sub-centre at Dabbar Pootha in block Nowshera has been sanctioned to be equipped with delivery table, suction machine blood pressure apparatus etc. In addition sub-centres are being identified for minor repairs so to facilitate healthcare at the village level.
“We are carrying out survey across the district by involving the domain specialists and elected representatives with a view to identify requirements specially in the health and education sector, so that optimum allocation of scarce resources can be done for maximising benefit to the people,” Mr. Biswas informed.
“In the process we are equipping existing health infrastructure by providing required machinery and support”, said the District Development Commissioner.
