DDC holds public grievances redress camp

KISHTWAR, Oct 10: Development Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana, convened a public grievance redressal camp at Bounjwah to take stock of public issues at their doorsteps besides assessing the status of development works in the area.
The DDC was accompanied by Joint Director Planning, Mohd Iqbal, ACR, Dr. Amir Hussain, Executive Engineer PMGSY, Dev Raj, Tehsildar Bounjwah, Shohab Latief, ALC Anoop Kumar, DSWO, Tariq Qazi, besides other senior officers. Sarpanchs, Panchs, senior citizens and locals from Bounjwah and adjoining parts participated in the camp.
During the camp, the DDC was apprised of various demands and problems by the participants which included better road connectivity, staff shortage in PHC Nali, advance dumping of ration for winter season, basic amenities and infrastructural facilities, repair of water supply schemes, posting of adequate staff in educational and medical institutions, replacement of damaged rotten wooden poles, awareness camps by key sectors like horticulture, agriculture etc.
DDC assured the people that their issues will be redressed on priority basis and on spot directions were passed to concerned officers of different line departments for speedy and prompt redressal of the same.
He directed the officers of horticulture, agriculture and allied departments to conduct regular awareness camps in these areas to acquaint the farmers with the schemes of their respective departments besides equipping them with the technical knowhow in this regard.
DDC asked the farmers to adopt modern techniques in the field of horticulture and agriculture sectors for doubling their income as the area of Bounjwah has tremendous scope in farming and allied sectors.
Regarding improvement of Dunadi-Bounjwah road, DDC directed the executing agency to widen and improve the road strictly as per the specific guidelines.
DDC asked for constitution of a committee to monitor the ongoing works being executed under PMGSY, PWD and other departments. He asked the Sarpanchs and public to keep watch on quality and standard of the ongoing works.
DDC directed the concerned officers to ensure registration of all eligible beneficiaries under PM-KISAN. He asked CAO Kishtwar to ensure that the seeds shall be made available to the farmers within next two days.
Meanwhile, DDC inspected PHC Nali and directed Deputy CMO to ensure that all requisite medicines are made available in the health center besides keeping a strict check over staff punctuality.
He also visited HSS Binnon and inspected the ongoing work on Play field and interacted with the staff and students there.
