DDC holds public grievances redressal camp

RAJOURI, Oct 28: District Development Commissioner, Rajouri today listened to the demands and problems of the people of 36 Panchayats of Manjakote block at a public grievances redressal camp.
A huge number of people turned up at the venue and projected the issues of their respective areas.
The DDC Rajouri was accompanied by ADC Ch. Mumtaz Ali, ACD Noor Alam, CEO Altaf Choudhary, District Information Officer, Ashima Iqbal , Executive Eng PDD, PHE PWD   besides all district officers and heads of various projects  also attended the camp.
Sarpanch, Panchs and people of the area sought relief in unscheduled power cuts, renovation of local road, check on absenteeism in schools and health centre. The people also demanded proper and timely supply of BPL and APL ration   besides enrollment of left out families as rationees.  The people also demanded construction of Kakora road and black topping of Kalali to Ghambir Mughala road and other connecting links.
Responding to the demands, the DDC instructed the concerned officer to submit the present position of road projects within a week so that the work is taken up to facilitate the people.
Regarding delay in execution of a PHE scheme in Kanyar Gali, the DC asked for expediting the laying of water pipelines to provide portable water to the area.
The PHE authorities were directed to identify the contractors who had been assigned these contracts and the reason of delay of this scheme.
Meanwhile, DDC directed ACD to ensure upgradation and renovation of Govt school building under convergence scheme. The DDC asked him to put thrust on asset creation for public utility with help of convergence of MGNREGA with other schemes.
Detailed deliberations were also held sector wise on issues related to Anganwadi centres, schools, roads, Health institutions, livestock health care, ration supply. The concerned officers were directed to work out the timelines for early grievance redressal.
Addressing the gathering, the DC said that more such camps will be organized for helping the populace of rural and far off pockets in getting their problems mitigated within shortest possible time.
Describing public participation essential for better development, he asked the people to coordinate with administration and monitor developmental works in their respective areas for effective implementation of development programmes.
