SRINAGAR, Sept 8: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara Khalid Jahangir conducted two days tour of Karnah Sub Division for assessing the status of development works and interacting with public to redress their problems.
A public interaction programme was held today at Tangdar to obtain feedback from general public about the functioning of different departments and problems being faced by them. MLA Karnah Raja Manzoor Ahmad, MLC Javed Mirchal, SDM Karnah, ACD Kupwara, XEn Spl Sub Division Karnah, AD Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, DIO Kupwara, Tehsildar Karnah, BDO Karnah and other Sub Division level officers were also present.
DDC patiently heard to the problems being faced by people and assured redressal in a time bound manner.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC instructed SDM Karnah to monitor attendance of officials in Government offices and institutions. He also called for a robust anti-polythene drive with the cooperation of civil society.
Reacting to the complaint of increasing drug addiction amongst youth, DDC directed for prompt and stringent action against the offenders.
While urging the engineers of R&B Spl Sub Division Karnah to expedite pace of work on all developmental schemes, the DDC Kupwara fixed the timeline of one year instead of three years for the newly sanctioned CRF roads. Instructions were also given for completion of Dringla-Behri road during the current season under BADP. DDC Kupwara also instructed the R&B Department to refurbish the historical Dak Bungalow Karnah without tinkering with its original architectural features. The status of food grain was also reviewed and concerned authorities were directed to initiate dumping of food grains without further delay.
He also directed RDD to complete the mapping of newly sanctioned Model Village project Gabra, Hajitra and Tad within 3 days, for proceeding further with execution of work. SDM Karnah was also directed to closely monitor the project for ensuring quality, visibility and impact of the works.
DDC Kupwara inspected a number of developmental works like Government Degree College Karnah, High School Neachiyan, High School Gundishart, Agriculture Inspection Hut Dringla, etc.
