SAMBA, Dec 2: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Sheetal Nanda inspected the works done by Rural Development Department (RDD) and Power Development Departments (PDD) here today.
DDC inspected the sites of new transformers installed at SIDCO Chowk Bari Brahmana, Doniya, Datta Talab, Patyari, Toliya, Ghagore and Ranjhri. X-En PDD informed that 15 new transformers replacing damaged ones have been installed under MPLAD scheme.
Nanda directed X-En PDD to ensure regular maintenance of transformers as these are one of the most costly equipments in a power system. She also issued directions that all the transformers should be serial numbered and their data base be created and a copy of which should be retained in DC office. She said that all field agencies should ensure that the material purchased with Government money should conform to quality standards.
Later, DDC inspected RDD works at Panchayats Dhagore and Utterbehani of blocks Nud and Purmandal respectively. She instructed ACD Samba Tilak Raj to make sure that works done around khuds, nallahs and streams should not result in encroachment and diversion of water bodies. She also listened to demands and grievances put forth by local Sarpanchs and community members.
