JAMMU, Dec 13: The weekly Block Diwas public outreach programme was today held at Gurha Brahmana panchayat in Akhnoor block where the residents raised their issues and sought redressal of their grievances.
District Development Commissioner, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, accompanied by DDC Member Akhnoor, Sharda Bhau and district officers, the DDC gave a patient hearing to the concerns raised by Sarpanchs, Panches and the locals in the Community Hall Gurha Brahmana (East).
Topping the agenda were projects of Jal Jeevan Mission aimed to ensure improved and quality drinking water supply to the people. Improvement and blacktopping of panchayat roads emerged as another key concern, highlighting connectivity issues.
Education, health, and power sectors also found their voice, with residents seeking solutions to specific problems. The DDC, emphasising the importance of Block Diwas, pledged swift and appropriate action on all fronts.
Responding to the issues, the DDC assured time bound and quality redressal of the same. He assured the public of the administration’s proactive approach to improving their lives. He promised a swift and thorough evaluation of all grievances raised, prioritising those deemed feasible and meriting immediate attention.
He assured dedicated follow-up and swift resolution on other matters, leaving residents with a sense of hope and optimism.
Those present at the event included SDM Akhnoor, Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh and Block Development Officer, Rupinder Kaur besides other district officers.
Later, the DDC made a conducted inspection of Government Middle School Gurha Mandiala where he interacted with the students and found the performance of the school satisfactory.
