DDC Kathua discusses plan proposals under Capex Budget

KATHUA, Apr 21: District Development Council Kathua today discussed the modalities for the formulation of developmental plan under District Capex Budget 2022-2023 at its meeting chaired by the Council Chairperson Mahan Singh and attended by the Councilors District officers and other officials.
Vice Chairperson Raghunandan Singh; DC Kathua Rahul Yadav; Additional District Development Commissioner, Puneet Sharma; (CEO District Development Council), DDC members, BDC Chairpersons, Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, besides other District officers and engineers of different departments were present in the meeting.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the collective efforts of the PRIs made for completing a record 2100 works in the last fiscal and impressed upon them to work with the same spirit to achieve maximum development targets in the current financial year too. He said the district will get Rs 1471 cr under Jal Jeewan Mission which will bring major improvement in the drinking water supply scenario in the district, especially in kandi and hilly areas.
Earlier, Additional District Development Commissioner apprised the council members about the last year achievements under different sectors and advised them to utilise the sanctioned grants judiciously under District Development plan and BDC plan in coordination with the departments.
While speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson urged the DDC members, BDC Chairpersons and District officers to coordinate with each other for devising the plans to meet the development aspirations of the people. He stressed on taking all stakeholders on board while finalizing the plans. He also asked them to ensure that the maximum people at grassroots level get the benefit of proposed works.
He informed the council that to clear the pending liability under MGNREGA Rs 14 crore will be sanctioned for the district soon.
Vice Chairperson Raghunandan Singh called for collective efforts of PRIs and officers of the administration to get desired development results.
