DDC Kupwara reviews development works

KUPWARA, May 2: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara today visited Fatah Khan Chak, Mir Mohalla and other areas of Halmatpora to take account of ongoing works executed under SAGY Model village.
During his visit, DDC inspected the road connecting Mir Mohalla with Fatah khan Chak constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. He directed revenue authorities to identify and align the land for expediting the work and thereby completion of the road within the stipulated time.
DDC also inspected other works in Halmatpora being executed by RDD under Border Area Development Programme in convergence with MGNREGA. He emphasized upon concerned authorities to construct concrete paths for affording easy all weather accessibility to commuters.
DDC visited the site of playfield at Hamatpora which is being developed at an estimated cost fifty lakh rupees under CM’s commitments. He directed Executive Engineer REW to mobilize men and machinery so that the work is completed by the end of this month. He emphasized upon concerned authorities to develop it into an asset for the welfare of budding sportspersons and for encouraging the culture of games and sports in the area.
Meanwhile, DDC also inspected the ring road being constructed from Sohipora-Halmatpora to Batergam.
DDC directed the officers of PDD to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, put in place a reliable infrastructure for the convenience of the locals and instructed PHE authorities to ensure desilting of channels for smooth flow of water.
