UDHAMPUR, Oct 18: The District Development Commissioner, Yasha Mudgal  laid foundation stone of re-construction of 14.50 Meter Span Motorable Bridge over Devika river.  The bridge is being constructed with an estimated cost of Rs. 50 lakh.
The foundation was laid in presence of Joint Director Planning, Rakesh Jamwal, senior officers and prominent citizens of the district.
The DDC said that the bridge is to be constructed by Public Works Department (PWD) Udhampur and is targeted to be completed within a period of two months.
The DDC directed the concerned executing agency to ensure completion of motorable bridge within the period assigned to them so that people of the area don’t suffer more.
On the occasion, Mrs. Mudgal also appealed to general public of the district not to use polythene and instead make use of fiber or cloth bags so that  district will become polythene free.
The DDC said that administration has planned to initiate cleanliness drive at Holy Devika river under the banner Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
