RAJOURI, Nov 15: J&K BJP general secretary and Ex MLC, Vibodh Gupta criticized People’s Alliance of Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), for misleading and instigating the people of the J&K, especially Kashmir for spreading unrest.
Vibodh was speaking at the party workers meeting which was also addressed by former Minister, Priya Sethi in connection with forthcoming District Development Council (DDC) polls here, today.
Addressing the meeting, he said that the erstwhile State has always been a victim of dynasty politics of NC and PDP who looted it for their own good. He said that the new land laws for J& K, amended by the BJP led Government at the Centre, would eventually change the overall scenario of the U T as these laws are for the welfare. He said that the problem of unemployment would end with the initiation of the new land laws as big corporate houses, industrialists, real estate owners would set up their units in J&K which would provide huge employment opportunities for youth.
He said that for the last more than 70 years, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have become the victims of dynastic politics. They have misused the resource of the erstwhile State for their personal motives and deprived people of basic amenities.
Former Minister Priya Sethi, asserted that the forthcoming DDC polls, which are being conducted first time in the history of the J&K will be a boon for the people after repealing of Article 370.
Sethi said that the Centre has fully applied the 73rd Constitutional Amendment to the J&K which was pending for the last 28 years. With this, all three tiers of Panchayati Raj institutions will be formed in the UT for the first time in the history of the region which would strengthen grassroots democracy, she added.
“The DDC poll in J&K will be the first major political activity to take place since the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5 last year. The DDC will be responsible for the formulation of development programmes, speedy development and economic upliftment of the people,” she said.
