POONCH, Apr 4: District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Inder Jeet today listened to people’s issues at Surankote during a Public Outreach Programme.
Accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch, Vinod Kumar; SDM Surankote, Saleem Ahmed; Tehsildar Surankote, Sheraz Ahmed; SDPO Surankote, Khaliq Ahmed and officers of line departments, the DC addressed Block Development Chairpersons, Members of District Development Councils, President Municipal Committee, Surankote, Ward Councils of Municipal Committee Surankote, religious leaders, Sarpanchs and civil society members of the area.
They raised various issues of public importance, and demanded augmentation of drinking water, improvement of power supply scenario in entire Surankote, check on illegal mining, renovation of Potha-Surankote bypass road, connecting CRF road from Mandi to Bufliaz, bringing three Blocks of Surankote Tehsil under BADP, land transfer to Municipal Committee Surankote for creating assets, check on overcharging of fare by transporters, shifting of the bus stand from the main market to outside, check on abuse of drug and various other issues.
The District Development Commissioner gave a patient hearing and directed the concerned departments to resolve the issues in a time bound manner to provide relief to the people. He sought cooperation of PRIs, Religious Leaders and prominent citizens in enforcing COVID-19 control measures, including vaccination against the virus.
Meanwhile, the District Development Commissioner visited Peer Gali and reviewed the snow clearance work there. He was briefed by the Executive Engineer (mechanical) Mughal road regarding the work done so for. The DDC directed that all the debris and boulders should be removed along the way on the road so that the traffic is allowed to move hassle free.
After the introductory meeting with the public, religious leaders and representatives of the public, the District Development Commissioner paid a visit to the CHC Surankote and reviewed the patient care status there. He interacted with the patients in the hospital and directed the Block Medical Officer and his team to provide quality Medicare and medicines to the patients.
