POONCH May 30: The District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad reviewed major tourism projects being executed by Poonch Development Authority with concerned officers, here today.
The meeting reviewed in detail the status of ongoing facelifting and beautification work of Poonch Fort, Tourist Arrival centres at Ziarat Miran Sahib, Shri Budda Amarnath, Gurudwara Nangali Sahib, Valley of Seven Lakes project, Tourist facilities at Jallian and Loran.
During the meeting, the DDC directed the concerned officials to expedite the work so as to make the district a centre of attraction for tourists in order to increase the tourist footfall at these places.
The DDC directed Executive Engineer PDA to pay special attention towards the construction of cafetaria at Jallian, Loran and Poonch to facilitate the visiting tourists. He also impressed upon PDA to complete all projects taken up under Prime Minister Development Package.
Among others the meeting was attended by ACR Bashir Ahmed Lone, CPO Sewa Ram Bhagat, Executive Engineer PDA Suresh Kumar, Tehsildar Haveli Shehzad Khan, Tehsildar Mandi Zahir Rana and Tehsildar Mendhar Jahangir Khan.
Later, the DDC along with concerned officers also visited the historical buildings including Poonch Fort, Moti Mahal and Sheesh Mahal to inspect the ongoing developmental works there.
