DDC, PRI members meet DC Udhampur, seek teachers

UDHAMPUR, Aug 1: A deputation of PRI members and local residents of Ladda area of Block Moungri led by Jasvir Singh, DDC councillor Panchari Moungri, met with Deputy Commissioner Udhampur on Tuesday regarding the shortage of teaching staff in Govt schools. Sarpanch Kunj Lal, Sarpanch Des Raj, Nayab Sarpanch Mustaq Ahmed, other PRI members of Moungri, and a huge number of locals joined the deputation.
While interacting with media persons after the meeting, Jasvir Singh said that Deputy commissioner Udhampur assured that teaching staff will be provided shortly to the Government schools as annual transfers are still going on. He told that GHSS Ladda, GHSS Lander, GHSS Damnote, GHS Kheemti Ladda, GHS Kauri Ladda, GHS Galiote, GHS Parand, GHSS Moungri, Dubigali, Kansal, Katti, Kultyar, Panjar, Sadhota, Jangalgali and other schools are facing serious shortage of teaching staff and situation is getting worse.
He appealed to the UT administration to take stronger steps on the issue as Govt schools in almost all the rural areas of Udhampur are under stress due to the huge shortage of teaching staff. He stressed on the new recruitment in the Education department as the available number has been decreasing fast with retirements and absence of recruitment for the last 5-6 years.
PRI members and locals submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner with the demands to provide teaching staff in schools, starting of balance work of NTPHC Ladda, road connectivity to unconnected areas of Ladda, additional accommodation for Govt schools and timely implementation of various Government welfare schemes.
