RAJOURI, Jan 1: Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad today visited District Court complex Rajouri and listened to the issues of District Bar Association members.
The Rajouri Bar led by President Haq Nawaz Mirza apprised the DDC about required infrastructure like construction of bar chambers for advocates and litigant shed for the visitors.
While complimenting administration for taking up new development initiatives and improving public service delivery in the district, they called upon the DDC to address the infrastructural shortcomings in district court like lack of lawyers’ chambers, inadequate seating arrangements for visitors and lack of sanitary facilities. They also held a detailed discussion with regard to construction of New District Court Complex Building at identified site at Muradpur.
The DDC, while welcoming the suggestions, said that Bar Association holds a crucial part in civil society and it can act as an agent of social change, while stressing that the process of justice delivery also requires proper facilities for lawyers and litigants.
Responding to issues of infrastructural deficit in the district court, the DDC announced Rs 10 lakh for the construction of lawyers’ chambers in the district court complex and assured early start of work.
The DDC directed the PWD to submit the detailed estimate for the construction of chambers to start the work at the earliest. He also assured the bar association members that other demands raised by the Bar shall also be taken care of subsequently.
