RAJOURI, June 2: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, today reviewed the progress under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana (PMAY-G) and Awas Plus in the district here at a meeting of the functionaries of the Rural Development Department . The objective of the meeting was to expedite the implementation of the twin flagship housing schemes and ensure timely realization of the set targets.
Assistant Commissioner Development, Vijay Kumar, informed that meeting that a significant progress has been made under the PMAY-G in the district with the completion of 24,287 houses against the target of 30,394 houses to be constructed in the district.”Under Awas Plus, 4,373 houses out of the 11,103 allotted houses have been completed,” he added.
The DDC emphasized the need to further accelerate progress and achieve the set targets within the shortest possible time. He highlighted the importance of using quality construction materials to ensure durable and resilient houses for the beneficiaries. Additionally, the DDC directed the officers to prioritize timely payments to the beneficiaries to prevent any inconvenience.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid; Assistant Commissioner Development, Vijay Kumar; District Information Officer, Narinder Kumar, and Block Development Officers.
The District Development Commissioner expressed confidence in the dedication and commitment of the officers to achieve the goals of PMAY-G and Awas Plus. He urged them to work collaboratively, synergize their efforts and leverage local resources effectively to expedite the progress under these housing schemes.
