DDC Rajouri takes stock of public issues

Rajouri, Mar 3: Continuing the endeavours of the District Administration to resolve the long-standing issues of the public and address their developmental concerns, the District Administration Rajouri today organised Block Diwas at Doongi, an area very close to the Line of Control.
Block Diwas was presided over by the District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan.
BDC Chairperson Doongi, Raiz Chowdhury; DDC Member Doongi, Khalid Chowdhury; Sarpanches, Panches and people in large numbers from all walks of life participated in the event.
Public in large numbers from Sasal Kote, Agrati, Challas, Shahpur, Derian, Chakli, Bagla, Mehari, Jatote, Khalwat, Sarol, Keri, Narian West and other adjoining areas participated in the Block Diwas and projected several issues and demands including augmentation of water and power supply, macadamization and repair and renovation of roads, better health care services and other related issues were raised during the programme.
Specific issues projected on the occasion include completion of work on water supply scheme at Jatote, shortage of PHE pipes, completion of work on Keri to Shahpur bridge, construction of road from Shahpur to Khanka Dhera, the road from Tridwal to Jatote, the road from Kallar to Sawani, sanctioning of old age and widow pension etc.
Other issues include the construction of road from the main road to Shamshan Ghat at SasalKote, repairing of the road from Sasal Kote to Challas, sanctioning of additional bunkers for the border residents, construction of a filtration plant at Challas, the paucity of staff at Health and Wellness centre at Challas, lack of ambulance etc.
The public also demanded a lift irrigation scheme at Jatote, sanctioning of funds under BADP, sanctioning of a PHC at Keri, tehsil status to Doongi, repair and renovation of Middle School Narian, the inclusion of eligible beneficiaries in BPL list, sanctioning of a Health and Wellness centre at Narian and Thathayali, sanctioning of a bank branch at Narian and Doongi, trauma centre at Narian, sports stadium at Doongi and Sangpur, delay in the execution of work on dug well at Narian and other related issues were also raised on the occasion.
In his address, the DDC said that the District Administration is working on six C’s including community, commitment, conviction, continuity, compassion and cleaning and four T’s including team, transformation, togetherness, tireless and three A’s including action, awareness, accountability and three ‘S’ like smoothness, silence and shortness for the better functioning of the Government machinery. DDC also threw a detailed light on the deep meaning of all the words.
