REASI, June 8: District Development Council (DDC) Reasi, today approved the work action plan of Rs 1125 crore for the year 2021-22 in its meeting chaired by the Council Chairperson Saraf Singh Nag.
The plan comprised Rs 3989.85 lakh UT component, Rs 90119.66 lakh NABARD and Rs 4864.90 lakh Area Development Funds with bifurcation of Rs 1000 lakhs under DDC grants, Rs 300 lakh under BDC Grants and Rs 3564.90 Lakh PRIs Grants.
A total of 744 works have been proposed under PRIs Grants, 457 under DDC Grants and 52 new works under UT component.
Among others, the meeting was attended by DDC members, Vice Chairperson Sajra Qadir; Deputy Commissioner Charandeep Singh; ADDC (Chief Executive Officer) Jyoti Salathia; Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr. Anirudh Rai; Chief Planning Officer, Block Development officers, Engineers and other Sectoral Officers.
Approving the plan, the Chairperson emphasized for starting the execution of work at the earliest and their completion well before the end of the financial year. He also called for judicious use of funds.
Earlier, during the plan discussion, the Chairperson also said that main focus will be laid on road connectivity and expansion of water grid under Jal Jeevan Mission covering all hamlets in one year period, for which a total of Rs 900 crore has been kept in the budget.
Meanwhile, the members of Council also raised the issues of water resources affected due to rail projects and for which it was proposed by the council that the construction companies have to provide funds to create alternate sources for drinking water for the local people.
The DDC members also raised the issues of immediate start of works on all PHE schemes, construction of bridges in remotest areas, rationalization of funds, improvement of power network, relaxation in tendering guidelines of RDD, development of playgrounds, construction of school buildings, regulation of mining, land compensation etc.
The Chairperson urged for identification of works which facilitate holistic development of the area and covering maximum population in the district. In this regard, the PRIs members should educate the local masses and play an axis role, he added.
The Chairperson also stressed on the completion of all languishing projects under different departments and in this regard, he said that provision of funds should be kept on top priority.
Earlier, the District Development Commissioner also gave detailed deliberations on all components of the plan.
