Reasi, July 16: District Development Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan convened a meeting today to thoroughly review the status and performance of the School Education Department in Reasi. Chief Education Officer Mushtaq Ahmed provided a detailed overview of the education sector during the meeting.
In his remarks, DDC emphasized the importance of nutrition and education, particularly through the mid-day meal program. He mandated that schools participating in the mid-day meal program should establish kitchen gardens, with assistance from the Agriculture Department.
Addressing the academic challenges, DDC instructed that additional classes be arranged for students struggling in specific subjects. He also suggested implementing online classes in schools facing teacher shortages and emphasized the need for regular doubt-clearing sessions to support student learning.
DDC reviewed the performance of the 10th and 12th-grade students. He expressed concern over schools with pass rates below 50% and announced stringent measures, including the suspension of salaries for the entire staff in such schools, to ensure accountability and drive improvement in educational outcomes.
He directed teachers to conduct regular class tests and urged teachers to provide the best possible education to students for the betterment of the district.
