KATHUA, Aug 5: The District Development Commissioner, Kathua Ramesh Kumar today conducted a meeting to ensure smooth conduct of Kailash Kund Yatra from District Kathua.
The meeting was attended among others by Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Khalil Poswal, additional SP Kathua Sudershan Kumar,Chief Executive Officer, Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority, ACD Kathua, SDM Bani, DFO Billawar, Executive Engineer, LSDA, XEn PDD, Accounts officer, LSDA,BDO Duggan and other officials of line Departments.
The non-official members who putforth various suggestions for ensuring hassle free Yatra from Kathua District included Ravi Mahajan, Member, J&K Tourism Promotion Advisory Board and President, Jammu Paryatan Vikas Mandal, V K Sehgal, Chairman Jammu Tourism Promotion Council and Tourism Journalist and Rajesh Gupta of Jai Jagdambay Langer Committee, Kathua.
At the outset Dr Bharat Bhushan, ADC Kathua gave a brief resume of the Yatra. He told that two Charri – Mubarraks from Bani & Duggan areas of Distt. Kathua go to Kailash Kund pilgrimage every year which falls in Bhaderwah area of Distt. Doda. He said that Yatra this year will start on 18th August and will culminate on September 1, 2016.
Ramesh Kumar, DDC Kathua directed SDM Bani & CEO LSDA to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place by August 16, 2016. He directed XEn PDD to provide Two Gensets for use during Yatra at Chattergalla and Chattri.
The Additional S P Kathua. Khalil Poswal assured to provide tents and security cover to Yatra and at Langer sites. Ravi Mahajan and V K Sehgal appreciated DDC Kathua for assuring all possible arrangements for Kailash Kund Yatra.They added that this will promote Pilgrim Tourism in the State.
