KATHUA, Aug 2: District Development Commissioner Kathua Dr Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary today convened a meeting to oversee the arrangements for Kailash Yatra.
ADC Kathua Prasanna Ramaswamy G, SSP Kathua Mohan Lal, CEO, Lakahnpur Sathal Development Authority, Dr Bharat Bhushan, CEO Ram Rattan, XEn PWD Basohli, XEn LSDA, AEE PWD & PHE Bani, AD Planning and other sectoral officers were present in the meeting.
Chairman Jammu Prayatan Vikas Mandal, Ravi Mahajan, Chairman Tourism Promotion Council V.K Sehgal, Chairman Bhaderwah Tour & Travel Association B.B Kotwal, Vice President Kailash Sewa Sangh Trust and members of langar committees were also present in the meeting.
CEO LSDA Dr Bharat Bhushan, informed that the meeting is a follow up of the instructions given by Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shant Manu to ensure safe and hassle free Yatra. Chief Executive Officer further informed that every year two yatras go to Kaialsh Kund from Kathua district, one from Bani and another from Duggan.
DDC asked sectoral officers to repair bridal path from Chatter Gala to Chattri- enroute to Kailash Kund, make provision for tented accommodation at Chatter Gala, Sarthal, and ensure medicare enroute and provision of firewood for the yatries and langerwallah by Forest Department.
SSP Mohan Lal informed the meeting that District Police will make all the arrangements for security of Yatra. DDC asked Lakahnpur Sarthal Development Authority and Information Department to ensure wider publicity of Yatra.
