DDC reviews education sector, forms monitoring clusters

SAMBA, May 16: District Development Commissioner, Samba Sheetal Nanda today chaired a meeting of education sector with emphasis on improvement of education standard and quality of teaching in Government schools.
She informed all present that clusters of Higher Secondary Schools, High Schools, Middle Schools, and Primary Schools have been formed with the object of ensuring better monitoring of all schools. Principals and Head Masters have been put in-charge of monitoring all schools in their respective clusters and prepare weekly reports as per format.
A team of District Officers will also be constituted to monitor these clusters. The main idea is to ensure focus on education/ knowledge of children and not only infrastructure.
She emphasized that co-curricular activities like painting, sports, debate competition should also be taken up in the schools and teachers should ensure classes dedicated to writing, reading, art/craft etc. and also use visual aids while teaching the students.
The meeting was attended by CPO samba, CEO Samba and all ZEOs, Principals and Headmasters of the District.
