DDC reviews functioning of Engineering Depts

KISHTWAR, Aug 26: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kishtwar, Baseer Ahmed Khan, today reviewed the functioning of Engineering Departments-R&B, JKPCC, PHE PMGSY and PDD and took serious exception of the slow pace of work and faulty planning in some projects.
Khan directed the officers not to start any work without administrative approval and proper DPRs. While seeking details from the concerned officials regarding the allocation, and expenditure of allotted budget from these departments, the DDC enquired about all the bottlenecks being faced by the departments.
He took the sector wise and division wise details from R&B and expressed his concern over the unsatisfactory performance of the department. He directed the concerned officials to expedite the work on various roads and bridges and complete all pending works within a fixed time frame.
He expressed his displeasure over the discrepancies brought to his notice and asked the Additional DDC Kishtwar to get the physical achievement of all the departments verified on the ground. He stressed for clearing all the compensation claims for acquired land and also ensuring best quality of work in all projects.
Taking the review of PMGSY and PHE Departments, the DDC expressed satisfaction over the pace of forest clearance and land acquisition. He asked the X-En, PHE to ensure time bound completion of WSS Naigad. The PDD was directed to give details regarding various ongoing projects and material needed for them. It was asked to ensure that the damaged transformers are replaced well in time and all the unconnected habitations in the remote areas get electrified.
