REASI, Sept 2: District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today issued instructions for convergence of CDF scheme works with MG-NREGA to spare more funds available with legislators for greater public benefit.
As per the order, the new convergence mechanism will spare at least Rs 30 lakh at the disposal of MLAs and MLC of Reasi district for taking up more works under Constituency Development Fund. The Wage Component of major works of Power Department and Public Health Engineering Departments will be covered under NREGA. The wages constitute 25% of such projects which will be born on NREGA and such amount saved in CDF will be allotted for more works.
MLAs of Reasi, Gulabgarh, Gool-Arnas and MLC of the district will now forward the list of important works of PDD, PHE and other departments to DDC, concerned district officers will submit estimates indicating wage non-wage component and accordingly wage component will be charged on NREGA through Panchayats within guidelines issued by Union Ministry of Rural Development.
Meanwhile, MLC Jugal Kishore Sharma and DDC reviewed the progress under CDF and issued instructions to concerned officers for expediting the works and submitting completion reports well in time. Similar meetings will be conducted with all MLAs for convergence and review of works.
