DDC reviews progress on PDD schemes, cluster village project

JAMMU, Sept 19: District Development Commissioner, Sushma Chauhan today reviewed the status of power projects aimed at to improve the power supply scenario in the district at a meeting of senior functionaries of Power Development Department and allied wings.
Engineers from EM&RE Wing, S&O Wing, Project Wing, Chief Planning officer beside other senior officers, attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the physical and financial achievements under State and Central schemes including, languishing projects, Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUJGY), Saubhagya, Integrated Power Development scheme (IPDS), and Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP), besides Capex.
The meeting was informed that 32 languishing projects have been approved by the Government on which Rs 4.32 crore has been expended till August 2019.
The DDC directed the executing agencies to upload physical progress of the work on the portal of JKIDFC.
While reviewing the status of IPDS Scheme and PMDP, it was informed that seven projects are under process for upgradation of power infrastructure in Jammu Circle. Under district plan, Rs 13.40 lakh have been utilized for the repair of damaged distribution transformers in EM&RE circle-I.
The DDC, while reviewing the progress and the targets, directed speeding up the execution of the schemes. She asked the officers to hold regular meetings to remove the bottlenecks, if any, to complete the projects in stipulated timeframe and avoid cost escalation.
The DDC impressed upon the authorities to supply power to the people as per the schedule. She stressed on arranging buffer stock of transformers and timeline completion of upgradation works of receiving stations.
The DDC also reviewed the status of R-APDRP (Part A and B) works.
Meanwhile, the District Development Commissioner chaired another meeting to review the progress on the projects being executed for development of Gole Gujral cluster village under R-urban mission.
The DCC exhorted upon the officers to utilize and complete the remaining works within stipulated time frame to secure the installements under Critical gap fund.
She asked Rural Development department to focus on development of essential infrastructural facilities and undertaking economic activities in consultation with the other departments for the benefit of the public.
