REASI, Oct 22: Pre-Board meeting of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board was held here today to review the progress on various development works being executed by several departments and demands of employees of the board which will be considered on the Annual Board Meeting scheduled to be held next week.
District Development Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary chaired the meeting while Vice-Chairman SSKSB Rajinder Singh Tara convened the sectoral review.
Sectoral officers from various departments presented resume of developmental works being taken up. PWD informed that helipad is nearing completion and DPR has been submitted for approach road. DDC directed that approach path will be constructed under MGNREGA for making helipad functional by January. Tourism Department was directed to immediately proceed with widening of road in Ransoo market upto 45 feet width. Directions were issued for construction of bus stand and taxi stand before Shivratri when more than 4 lakh pilgrims are expected to visit the holy cave shrine.
SSP informed that for overall security of shrine and base camp CCTV Cameras are being installed and proposal has also been submitted for X-Ray scanning of baggage at Darshni Deodi. DDC issued instructions for approaching PHQ for sanction of funds for construction of police post and residential accommodation near the cave. He also called upon officials of Railways and Highways to devise a protection management plan to avoid any kind of disaster due to shooting stones near the cave.
The DDC expressed serious concern for delay in construction of some works. BSNL authorities informed that internet facility, PCO and landline is being set up at the cave shortly. BDO Pouni informed that plantation work along the track has also been completed. JKEDA officials were asked to expedite procurement of solar light. ADC informed that 19 fire extinguishers have been established at the cave. A new bus service from Jammu to Shiv Khori is being started next week.
A squad has been constituted for checking complaints of overcharging and ensuring ban on use of polythene and polythene carry bags. SSP informed that FIR will be lodged and strict action taken in case of any overcharging reported.
DDC issued instructionfor ensuing round the clock medical fecilities for which one doctor is being posted at the Cave and a special dispensary being established.
The meeting was attended by SSP Sharief Chouhan, ACR Tilak Rraj Sharma, CMO Dr Mohd Younis, XEn PHE Nissar Khan, XEn PWD K H Shah, Deputy Director Tourism, XEn Tourism, TDM BSNL, XEn PDD, Maintenance and Transmission, BDOs, Tehsildars, Accounts Officer Nidhi Gupta and officials of Shrine Board.
