DDC takes stock of pending cases

SRINAGAR, Feb 5: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, today in an interaction cum face to face session with officers of different financial institutions, sponsoring agencies took stock of status of sponsoring cases for financial assistance to income generating unit holders of the district.
The Lead District Manager (LDM)/Cluster Head, Mohd Ashaq, Chief Planning Officer, Imtiyaz Ahmad, DDM NABARD, heads of the financial institutions and officers of different sponsoring and implementing agencies were present in the interaction session cum face to face discussions during the deliberations.
During the session, the DDC was informed J&K Bank sanctioned 833 cases of different nature sponsored by the implementing agencies and paid an amount of Rs 24 crore as loan while under PMEGP, 140 cases are pending with the bank.
The LDM Kupwara briefed the meeting about the performance of different financial institutions and status of sponsoring cases by different Government departments till date. The sponsoring agencies who are running and implementing schemes under KVIB, KVIC, DIC, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Agriculture, Horticulture, PMAY-U, DUDA, Handicraft, Handloom, Sericulture, RDD Convergence, Fisheries and Housing matters sponsored to financial institutions functioning in the district .
The DDC Kupwara impressed upon all concerned agencies to dispose of the pending cases with them during current month in a coordinated manner. He also directed there should be face to face interaction amongst the bankers, sponsoring agencies and respective beneficiaries to attain the targets under single line system mode and for this purpose a review meeting shall be convened next week between the financial and sponsoring partners of the district.
