DDC’s public darbar at Taryath

RAJOURI, Sept 26 : District Administration Rajouri held public darbar at far flung village of Taryath, in tehsil Kalakot today.
It was second darbar of the Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Saugat Biswas, which was held in the Higher Secondary School, Taryath, for the whole day. All departments opened their offices in different rooms of the school, which were attended by district heads and subordinate officers. People from twenty two villages of the  area attended and brought their issues for disposal.
Separate training meets were held with the Sarpanchs and Panchs on devolution of powers to the Panchayati Raj Institutions. The DC and other district officers responded to the queries of the Sarpanchs and Panchs while imparting the training.
In addition, all the district officers of various departments addressed issues of the public on an individual basis. The administration also heard the Sarpanchs and Panchs, who highlighted common issues, of their respective Panchayats. During the session, the district officers disseminated awareness about the plans and schemes in force. Face to face discussion of applicants with concerned officers went a long way in the solving public issues. Hundreds of applications were received from the public of which maximum were disposed off on spot.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that being a remote and far flung area of the district, gaps were noticed particularly in the field of Education, Health, PHE, Power and infrastructural facilities. Efforts were made to resolve most of the problems on spot. Issues regarding anganwadi centres, MGNREGA wage payments, title verifications, slow or stalled construction of buildings, shortage of medicines, habitation certificates, electricity billing disputes, requirement of poles and LT, requirement of seeds and fertilizers, land compensation and old age pension, came up during the darbar.
