DDMA Kupwara clears 234 property damage cases

KUPWARA, Aug 21: A meeting of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Kupwara was convened on Wednesday to review the property damage cases in the district.
The meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan who is also Chairperson DDMA, directed the Tehsildars, Fire & Emergency service and concerned Executive Engineers to submit a joint assessment report of damaged infrastructure in their jurisdiction at an earliest.
They were also directed to ascertain the reason of the incident and duly mention it in the report, without any delay.
The DC took a case wise review of all the claims pertaining to property damages.
During the meeting, a total of 235 fire and flood damage cases relating to the damage of residential houses and property were approved for grant of relief under State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) norms.
Approved cases also included 26 minor damage cases to residential houses during the August 20 earthquake.
