DDOs face action as teachers allowed to continue despite quashment of select list

JAMMU, Jan 1: Maintaining that appointment of three teachers, who were allowed to work in the schools despite quashment of their select list of teachers of District Rajouri by the High Court, shall be deemed to have haven terminated ab initio, the Director School Education Jammu has asked Chief Education Officer Rajouri to identify the DDOs, who allowed continuation of these teachers.
The CEO has also been directed to furnish the complete service particulars of all such DDOs within three days to the Directorate so that disciplinary as well as recovery proceedings are initiated against the DDOs.
The three teachers, namely Ashok Kumar (PS Karma), Kasturi Lal ( GPS Devak) and Mohd Ashraf ( HS Challas) had been allowed to continue work in their respective schools despite the quashment of entire select list of teachers of District Rajouri by the High Court .
The select list was quashed by single bench of the High Court on 9-04-2013 because of violation of rule 6(6) of the J&K Civil Services Decentralization and Recruitment rules 2010 and adoption of alleged unfair methods in making the selections. The single bench judgement was upheld by a division bench of the HC on 22-05-2013 with a direction to the Government to constitute the District level selection committee in accordance with rule 6(6) of “the Rules” and finalize the process of selection and appointment within eight weeks.
