SAMBA, Feb 28: The district administration demolished the building of a de-addiction center which was running illegally on Government land for the last two years in Birpur of Samba district and arrested its owner under PSA.
According to the information received, drug trade was carried out under the guise of this de-addiction centre. After receiving the information, the administration took immediate action and seized the de-addiction center and safely evacuated 15 victims from there and handed them over to their families, after which its owner Kapil Sharma alias Jimmy absconded and had dodging the police and evading his arrest but finally he was arrested by the police.
In the early hours of Wednesday morning, the district administration demolished the entire double story building of the de-addiction center built illegally on Government land and has restored one Kanal and 12 Marla Government land. Click here to watch video
Addressing a joint press conference at the District Headquarters, Samba, Deputy Commissioner, Abhishek Sharma and SSP, Vinay Kumar Sharma said that the administration has taken strict action against those encroaching on State land in Samba district.
Under this mission to reclaim State land from encroachers, he said the administration has recovered one kanal and 12 marla of State land (Khasra No. 94) in village Birpur, tehsil Bari Brahman during an operation which was conducted after proper verification.
He said that 17 FIRs are already registered in 11 different police stations of Jammu and Samba districts against the name of Kapil Sharma, who is running the sealed de-addiction centre.
SSP Vinay Kumar Sharma said that the administration and police have taken a strict stance on illegal activities, and hence the accused person Kapil Sharma is currently detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in this new case also. A case has been registered under FIR number 11/2024, 420/323/342/506 IPC in Bari Brahmana Police Station of the district and further action has been started, he added.
