RAJOURI, Sept 29: The dead body of a young girl was found hanging from a tree in Kotranka area while another body was recovered from Kalakote area of district Rajouri today.
Official sources said that incident took place in Daraj hamlet of Karag Kasauli village under Kotranka police jurisdiction. The dead body of an 18-year-old girl was found hanging from a tree in the forest area near Karag Kasauli village under suspicious circumstances.
Police said some villagers while going to the nearby forest in the morning saw the body of girl hanging from the branch of a tree amidst the bushes and informed police. The police party from Koranka Police Station reached the spot and took the body into its custody after examining spot.
The body was shifted to Govt hospital at Kotranka. The deceased was later identified as Gulshan Akhtar, daughter of Mohammad Munir, resident of Karag Kasauli. After conducting post-mortem and completing other legal formalities, the police handed over the body to the family and started further investigation by registering a case of death under suspicious circumstances.
Meanwhile, another dead body of a 17- yrs -old Nancy Devi was found hanging from tree in Dharamsal area of Kalakot tehsil. Police has started investigating under Section 174 CrPC and has also started collections of call details of the deceased girl as the family members alleged that it was blind murder.
