POONCH, Oct 22: The dead body of a J&K Police personnel (Hawaldar) was recovered from Saiklu area of Mandi in Poonch district today.
Official sources said that locals saw a dead body near Kali Mata Mandir in Saiklu. The cop was deputed from DPL Poonch on duty there. They informed Police after which a team reached there and shifted dead body to Sub District Hospital Mandi for legal formalities.
Deceased was identified as Narinder Kumar, son of Rameshwer Kumar, resident of Rehari, in Jammu.
Dr Qayoom in SDH Mandi said that he was having head injury, but actual cause of death will be ascertained after post-mortem. The dead body was taken to District Police Line Poonch where guard of honour was given and later it was sent to Rehari Jammu for last rites.
A senior Police officer said that initially, it was found that he slipped there and received head injury, Meanwhile, inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC have been initiated.
