POONCH, Mar 9: The dead body of a new born male baby was recovered from the river near Tehsil Complex, Mandi today.
Official sources said that shopkeepers saw infant’s body initially floating in the local river and intimated police. The locals also gathered there and they pulled it to the river bank side. The police party also rushed to the site and recovered the body and then shifted it to Sub District Hospital, Mandi.
Doctors said that the dead body was decomposed, while it was handed over to Police for disposal after postmortem and performing other legal formalities.
Station House Officer Mandi, Mukhtiar Ali said that after postmortem dead body of the baby was buried in presence of magistrate, while a case FIR Number 20, under Section 318 IPC has been registered and investigation started.
