JAMMU, Jan 23: The dead body of a male fetus was recovered today from a dustbin in Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
“The body of a male fetus of about 5-6 months was spotted this morning by a Safai Karamchari in a general dustbin near Room No 7 in Emergency Unit of the Hospital,” a police official said.
He said the Safai Karamchari informed the police and hospital administration. “The body has been shifted to mortuary room of the Hospital for identification/postmortem while inquest proceedings in this connection have been initiated by police post GMC Jammu,” he added.
The official said the hospital administration as well as the police is on toes after recovery of the body as it is very unusual to recover body of a fetus from GMC Jammu, which is not a maternity hospital.
