JAMMU, Dec 23: Janipur Police arrested a ration dealer for illegally selling PDS ration.
As per police sources, information was received at Police Station Janipur regarding illegal selling of Govt. ration.
Acting over the information, a team from Police Station Janipur raided the ration depot and recovered 150 kilograms of rice sold to two persons without any ration card.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Aslam Shah, son of Sayed Shah of Janipur.
All the stock in the depot was counted and the machine provided by the department for record was also seized.
A case under FIR Number 97/2020 under Section 409 IPC has been registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Janipur Inspector Gurmeet Singh and assisted by SI Kashmir Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO West Amit Sharma, SP City PD Nitya and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
