JAMMU, Nov 3: The 24th death anniversary of Mahant Bachitter Singh was observed at Digiana Ashram on National Highway here today.
The programme was held under the supervision of Mahant Manjit Singh of Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch. Several religious personal and leaders of Sikh organizations besides Sikh Sangat participated in this function to pay rich tributes to Mahant Bachitter Singh.
Ragies and preachers from outside and within the State threw light on the life and history of Mahant Bachitter Singh ji. Bhai Amarjit Singh Ragi from Patiala and Bhai Angrez Singh from Gurdwara Bangla Sahib Delhi participated in the programme and recited `Shabed Kirtan’.
The prominent political leaders who attended the programme to pay tributes to Mahant Bachitter Singh ji included Speaker Kavinder Gupta, Health Minister Ch Lal Singh, former Ministers Rangil Singh, Raman Bhalla, S S Wazir- former SGPB president, members of DGPC Jammu, Poonch, Rajouri, Kathua Udhampur, Samba and Reasi.
J P Raina secretary general and Jagan Nath president Universal Sanatan Dharm Foundation honoured Mahant Manjit Singh for his best services towards humanity and presented a memento on this occasion. Mahant Manjit Singh ji also honored the special guests.
