KISHTWAR, Nov 8: Locals here today staged a protest demonstration against JP Company engaged in a power project after one Ghulam Hussain Dar, a Roller Operator working there in Dangduru, got killed.
As per sources, Dar, a father of five daughters and resident of Dadpath, Kishtwar was fatally injured after he was hit by a tanker while on duty.
His death triggered protest by the locals and family members of the deceased who gathered outside District Hospital Kishtwar and demanded justice for Dar.
The protesters held the company responsible for failing to provide safe working environment to workers.
Former Minister, G.M Saroori also joined the protest and demanded improved safety standards in large-scale infrastructure projects in Kishtwar.
He extended condolences to Dar’s family and said, “We will not rest until we get justice for Ghulam Hussain Dar and improved safety measures for all workers.”
The protesters also demanded adequate compensation for Dar’s family.
