Debate competition held

JAMMU, Nov 26: A debate competition on the topic ‘Prevention of AIDS and its Control’ was held at Govt Polytechnic for Women, here.
Students of 1st semester from all the disciplines participated in the event.
The programme was co-ordinated  by Bhavna  Arora, Red Ribbon Club Co-ordinator, under the guidance of Principal Neetu Maini.
Bhavna,  while starting the deliberations highlighted the need of awareness about AIDS and its prevention among the masses as the disease is incurable and spreading at fast pace. She said its impact can be minimized by awareness only.
Neetu, while appreciating the gesture of the Red Ribbon Club exhorted upon the students to take active part in co-curricular activities which are highly beneficial for overall development of personality of students.
Naresh Gupta, Vinod Kumar, Zhara Begum and Vidhu Peuri were judges on the occasion.
14 students participated in the competition.
Akshita Rajput (E&C), Suvenih Bhat (Computer) and Sadhvi Bhat (Computer) were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
