Debate competition on ‘Drug Menace’ held

JAMMU, Dec 7: A debate competition was organized by NGO Helpline Humanity in collaboration with Vishwa Bharti Senior Secondary School, Akalpur on the topic ‘Drug Menace-Its Responsibility- Government or the Society’.
Students of the School articulated their views during the debate where T.K Bhat, Commissioner, Relief & Rehabilitation was the chief guest.
Top three performers were Yogini of class 11th; Janvi and Aastha Pandita of class 10th and they were awarded trophies by Helpline Humanity.
The prizes were distributed by T.K Bhat along with J.L Koul, President Vishwa Bharti Institute Management. Welcome address was delivered by Annapurna, Principal while B.L Jalali, Project Director apprised the gathering about aims, objectives and projects for the welfare of the society.
He said that 500 students have been issued complete sets of books free of cost for entire academic year and about 1800 beneficiaries have visited Mata Saraswati Pustakalaya in Jagti.
T.K Bhat, in his a valedictory address advised the students that whatever field they choose they should aim to excel to serve their family and the country.
