BISHNAH, Mar 20: District Police Jammu organised a debate competition cum Nukkad Natak to spread awareness on drug abuse. Ramnish Gupta SP Hqr Jammu was the chief guest and DDC Bishnah Dharminder Kumar, Surinder Singh, SDPO RS Pura and Inspector Vikram Sharma were also present.
Ramnish Gupta in his speech drew the attention of all the students to the widespread menace of the drugs and its negative and ill effect on mental and physical growth of body, social life and family life.They are the future of country and should keep away from drugs, he said.
Surinder Singh SDPO RS Pura advised the students to channelize energy in sporting activities to make their future better.
Sushil Singh Charak, Chairman Nations Development Association (NDA) shared various reasons for people resorting to drugs viz peer pressure, relief from stress, increase energy, recreational purpose and status in the society etc.
DDC Bishnah Dharminder Kumar briefed about their roles and responsibilities to prevent the students from drug addiction.
Jammu Police has adopted a unique initative through “Nukkad Nataks” in its anti- drug campaign across the district to spread the message of ill effects of drug abuse. The audience,students & youth of the area appreciated the Jammu Police for efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society.
300 students were present in the programme. 1st prize winner was Arti Sharma, GDC Bishnah with cash reward of Rs 2000/, 2nd price winner was Sugandhi Katal, GDC Bishnah with cash reward of Rs 1500/- while 3rd prize winner was Aditya Sarswati from Institute of Research and Studies with cash reward of Rs 1000/- respectively, Ten students who performed “Nukkad Natak” were also felicitated with tropy and cash rewards of rupees 10000.
