UDHAMPUR, Sept 25: District Information Center, Udhampur organized a debate contest on the topic “Is TV viewing harmful to Kids” here today at Government Middle School, Barrian. As many as 10 students of the host school participated in the contest and expressed their views on the topic. Incharge Headmistress of the host school, Rani Devi was the chief guest of the occasion. Preeti was adjudged first while Kuldeep and Nitasha stood 2nd and 3rd respectively in the debate contest. Ankush and Saima were awarded with consolation prizes. While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that such type of contests provide a platform to budding student to channelize their talent in the right direction. She urged the department to organize such more programmes in future also. Jyoti Patyal, Nitu Khujuria and Bunty Sharma were the judges during the contest. The Artists of information department also presented a scintillating cultural programme on the occasion which was highly liked by the audience. Information Department also distributed prizes and certificates among the participants.
