KATRA, May 14: Police have identified all the four deceased, who were charred to death beyond recognition in yesterday’s tragic incident when a passenger bus suddenly caught fire near Katra.
Besides a local woman from Katra Tehsil, they include a three-year old child, his grandfather and a young woman from Uttar Pradesh, who were on pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.
They have been identified as Bagheswar Chouwan (55), son of Rajwanshi Chouwan, resident of village Abrakoul, tehsil Gazipur in UP, his three-year old grandson Shivam Chouwan, 33-year old Laxmi, wife of Jagdish Prashad, resident of village Pura Dhanoti, tehsil Hadyergarh, district Barabanki (UP) and Meena Devi (40), wife of Padam Chand, resident of Maghal Pamote, tehsil Katra, J&K.
Pertinent to mention that these four persons were burnt to death and 24 others were injured when a Jammu bound local passenger bus caught fire near Katra yesterday. The injured are undergoing treatment at GMC Hospital Jammu.
